1.3GHz UKAC 2023 - WHOLE YEAR RESULTS

The number of clubs taking part in the 1.3GHz UKAC series this year was 55: 28 in the General Club section and 27 in the Local Club section. This was 4% up on 2022, and showed a small change in distribution in favour of Local Clubs. The total number of different callsigns submitting entries across the year was 224 (36 section AO, 59 section AR and 129 section AL) - exactly the same overall number as in 2022, but with a 2% change from section AO to section AR. The number of monthly entries peaked in February at 123 and declined slowly after that (apart from an upward blip in October) to 93 in December. The total number of DXCC entities worked across the series was thirteen (DL, EI, F, G, GD, GI, GM, GW, HB9, ON, OZ, PA and SM), including all UK call areas except GJ & GU. The total number of big squares appearing in logs was 62. Monthly ODXs varied between 711 and 970km, with the best of the year taking place in the February, May and June sessions between G4KUX (IO94) and SM6VTZ (JO58).

Looking at the club results, in the General Club section the leading entrant was Northern Fells CG, also leading entrant last year. In second place was Harwell ARS for the second consecutive year. In the Local Club section, Parallel Lines CG, last year's leading entrant took first place again, with Hereford ARS also taking second place for the second consecutive year.

Moving on to individual results, the leading two entrants in the Open section were G3XDY in first place (for the ninth consecutive year) and G4ODA in second place (for the fifth)! In the Restricted section, the leading place was retained by G4CLA who has been first in the section every year since 2016, with G8CUL moving up one place to second. In the Low Power section, G(W)1YBB/P takes first place, with last year's winner G0WUS/P moving down one place to second.

The station providing best DX to the greatest number of entrants (135) was GD8EXI in IO74.

Congratulations to all the certificate winners and thanks to all the 2023 participants. That's it for the 2023 23cm UKAC series - hope to see you on the band in the 2024 season!
